Leading the way

Working with UFI (the global association of the exhibition industry), we have pledged to become net zero by 2040 in line with our parent group RELX, 10 years ahead of our industry’s pledge of net zero by 2050. In 2023, we will publish our pathway to net zero, setting out a carbon reduction strategy with key milestones for all our shows.

RX is serious about sustainability and we commit to taking action and communicating regularly and transparently. As we progress on our journey we welcome feedback and engagement from customers, suppliers and stakeholders.

The World Future Energy Summit is paving the regional way to more environmentally friendly events. With several sustainable initiatives and a clear objective to reduce its carbon footprint, we’re leading by example.

Run on 100% carbon free clean energy

The 2022 World Future Energy Summit and other Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week events were run on 100% carbon free clean energy. This was provided and certified by the Emirates Water and Electricity Authority’s (EWEC) Clean Energy Certificate (CEC) scheme, in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy.

Use of sustainable materials and recycling

Wherever possible we try and use sustainable, reusable and recycled materials across the show. We encourage our exhibitors and visitors to do the same, because every small step makes a difference.

Recyclable woodchip

We aim to use recyclable materials for as many of our spaces as possible. The Sustainability Business Connect Buyer’s Lounge, for example is created from Recyclable Woodchip.
