Abu Dhabi, UAE – March 27, 2023: The World Future Energy Summit, the leading annual business event for alternative energy and sustainability, has launched a monthly podcast that aims to provide expert insights into the most pressing issues shaping the world’s rapidly transforming energy sector.

“Future Energy Insights” streaming on Google Podcasts, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts will feature insightful 30-minute episodes with guests including energy experts, policymakers, thought leaders, and entrepreneurs from around the world.

The podcast aims to become a regional voice on energy within the industry, exploring a plethora of topics focusing on multiple sectors of renewable energy and sustainability. Within the first week of its launch, Future Energy Insights is among the top 25 per cent of downloaded podcasts in the region, reinforcing the demand for a quality podcast and the opportunity to fill an industry gap.

The first three episodes will deep dive into Green Hydrogen with episode one hosting Alan Zhao, Cummins’ New Power Business Director, Africa and Middle East; Dan Feldman, a partner at Abu Dhabi’s King and Spalding law firm; and Chris Smith, CEO and Founder of Meld Energy, a green hydrogen solutions provider. The expert panel will detail the biggest clean energy opportunities for innovators and explore the research and development driving the evolution of photovoltaics, electrolysers, and other technologies in accelerating hydrogen growth.

In the second episode, Frank Wouters, Reliance International’s Senior Vice President of New Energy, will be joined by Emanuele Bianco, IRENA’s Policy Program Officer, and Dr Jehan Kanga, CEO of Rux Energy, an advanced materials startup. Together, they will aim to identify what the Gulf region needs in terms of infrastructure, partnerships, and government initiatives to grow its clean hydrogen export trade, as well as the role startups can play in developing the market.

The final episode in the clean hydrogen trilogy will focus on financing a green hydrogen revolution, scrutinising measures to help raise the US$1.2 trillion public and private investment required this decade to help achieve global net zero emissions by 2050. Exploring investment opportunities, how to boost appeal, and unlock more fund-raising avenues, listeners will hear from Adrien d'Ormesson of the Foresight Group, a sustainability-led alternative assets and SME investment management firm; Justo Alejandro Algaba, Director – Infrastructure Finance, MENAT at HSBC; and Claude Mourey, Director, Hydrogen and New Energies – EMEA at Wood Mackenzie, a global research and consultancy group. The panel will identify which countries are leading in green hydrogen investment and the lessons to be learnt from each.

“With so much intellectual nourishment derived from myriad discussions and debates at January’s World Future Energy Summit, our new podcast series provides the energy and sustainability sector a chance to keep abreast of the trends that will impact their industries and ultimately the way we all live and work,” said Leen Alsebai, Head of World Future Energy Summit, and General Manager of RX Middle East. “This initiative ensures the World Future Energy Summit retains its leadership as a driver for the clean energy transition and as a crucial knowledge-sharing platform supported by some of the industry’s most prominent experts, influencers and innovators.”
