Tom Hennes founded Thinc Design in 1992 as an extension of his 15-year career as a theatrical designer in New York. Under his guidance, the award-winning exhibition design firm has successfully completed projects for national and international clients, including the National September 11 Memorial Museum at the World Trade Center, the USA Pavilion at World Expo Milano 2015 and others. Tom’s current projects include exhibits for the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, the Jordan Museum in Amman, Climate + Change, a touring initiative in the Himalayan states of India, and a revitalisation of the Smithsonian Arts and Industries Building at the National Mall in Washington, DC. Tom has lectured and written extensively on museums as zones of exploration, social discourse, negotiation, and memorialisation. He also served for many years as Exhibitions Editor for Curator: The Museum Journal.
