Susanne Bodach holds a PhD degree in climate-responsive and energy efficient architecture and has been working in this field for several years. She is an architect and researcher with focus on bioclimatic design and energy efficiency in buildings. Since 2015, she is the Head of the Energy Efficiency Department of Solar Power Services GmbH, a Germany-based consultancy firm for renewable energy and energy efficiency where she is coordinating an international and inter-disciplinary working team. Furthermore, she is an experienced trainer in energy efficiency, renewable energies, energy simulation and auditing, resource management as well as sustainable development.
Prior to joining Solar Power Services, Susanne Bodach worked for the well-known Wuppertal Institute which unites climate, environment and resource related aspects in its research. As experienced research fellow she managed EU-funded projects for the promotion of energy efficient building technologies. Susann Bodach also worked as a design architect in Germany and Spain as well as a technical advisor for the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development.
Together with the former president of Wuppertal Institute Prof. Dr. Peter Hennicke, she published the book “Energy revolution: the new global challenge” which shows how industrialized, emerging and developing countries could switch to a clean energy supply system.
