Mohammed Atif is currently the Area Manager of Middle East and Africa for DNV GL based in the UAE and leads DNV GL offices based in Cape Town, Muscat, Cairo, Riyadh and Casablanca. He is an economist with a strong background in renewables & new technologies, economic and financial analysis, regulation and restructuring, and market design.
He leads business segments in wind and solar power advisory, intelligent network communications, power grids and asset management, markets & policy development and sustainable use of energy and water. He is also overseeing the development a solar PV competency center for research, development and innovation.
Mohammed’s global experience includes countries such as Angola, Denmark, Egypt, Ghana, the GCC, Lebanon, Southeast Europe, Mozambique, Namibia, Pakistan, Turkey, South Africa, Tanzania, UK, Ukraine, Vietnam and Yemen.
He has a master’s degree in energy economics and recently completed the global executive leadership program at INSEAD.
