Jens Birgersson is the CEO of the ROCKWOOL Group, the world’s leading supplier of innovative products and systems based on stone wool, from building insulation to acoustic ceilings, external cladding systems to horticultural solutions, engineered fibres for industrial use to insulation for the process industry and marine & offshore.
He holds a BSc in Economics, University of Stockholm 1992; an MS in, Engineering Physics, Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm; and in 2013 he undertook an Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School, Boston. Up until 2015 Jens worked for ABB, where his most recent position was Head of Business Unit Network Management.
Jens thinks that the era of sustainability as a “nice to have” is over, if it ever truly existed. Today, sustainable businesses are both a business and human imperative — we must all be sustainable to thrive.
Together with his management team, Jens feels both privileged and conscious of the fact that the ROCKWOOL Group can play such an important role in shaping a more sustainable society barely by producing and selling more stone wool solutions.
Jens lives In Malmö with his wife and their five children. After he joined the ROCKWOOL Group, he initiated a complete energy renovation of his house with ROCKWOOL solutions. The acoustic solutions reducing indoor noises have been very dear to Jens and his family.
