Jari Kaija began his career in the late 1980’s as Development Engineer at Neste Chemicals Oy in Finland. He later moved to Borealis Polymers Oy, after Statoil and Neste merged their petrochemical businesses together in 1994. At Borealis, he was responsible for high pressure technology and site services in 12 operating units. In 1997 Jari joined ABB Finland as a Regional Director with the task to strengthen ABB’s footprint in Scandinavia. Since 2002, he has been working in different locations in Europe and the Middle East, and in several different positions, such as Local BU Service Manager, Country Service Manager, Region Service Manager of IMEA and Global BU Manager for Full Service. In his role as Head of Group Service, which he started in 2011, Jari has been one of the key architect’s behind ABB’s recent successes in Service. Under his leadership, a new strategy for ABB Service was developed and implemented within the Group.
ABB’s Global Service business today employs 27’000 people and generates 8 BUSD of revenue.
Jari Kaija has a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Helsinki Institute of Technology and an Executive MBA from Helsinki School of Economics.
He lives with his wife and three children in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
