62, graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique engineering school and the Ecole de la Météorologie Nationale.
After initially working as an engineer for the French ministry of transport, he joined EDF’s Studies and Research department in 1982.
In 1985, he joined Crédit Commercial de France’s (CCF) swaps department, taking over as its head from 1988 till 1991. After three years at Vinci where he was special advisor to the CEO, he returned to CCF in 1994, where he successively held various positions in CCF’s then HSBC’s investment banking unit from 2000, including for many years co-head of the sector “Energy and Utility” for the HSBC Group and Head of Investment banking for the MENAT region based in Dubaï. He retourned to France in 2008 to be advisor to the CEO of HSBC France, he was based in Dubaï for nearly 3 years to monitor the MENA region on behalf of the investment bank.
From May 2011 till February 2012, he was in charge of HSBC’s private banking activities in France. He was also a member of HSBC France’s Executive Committee for a number of years.
He is Group Senior Executive Vice President in charge of the Renewable Energy Hub and member of the EDF Executive Committee since 2015, CEO of EDF Energies Nouvelles since 2012 and member of the boards of EDF Luminus and EDF Trading.
