About WFES:

The annual World Future Energy Summit (WFES) in Abu Dhabi is the world’s largest meeting of influential figures from the renewable energy industry.

Hosted by Masdar, Abu Dhabi’s multi-billion dollar cooperative future energy initiative, and organised by Reed Exhibitions and Elsevier, the leading publishers of scientific information, the Summit unites industry leaders, policymakers and researchers to discuss the challenges of rising energy demand and to map a cleaner and more sustainable energy future for the world.`

In two years, the Summit has earned international accolades, with the New York Times describing it as “the Davos on renewable energy,” and the endorsement of leading personalities.

Summit speakers have included royalty, heads of state, government and corporate leaders from Britain’s HRH Prince Charles, HRH Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, President Olafur Grimsson of Iceland and Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair to U.S. Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman and Dr. Rajendra Pachauri, Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

Publications from Time magazine in North America to the pan-Arab Al Sharq Alawsat describe the annual event as the “largest gathering of leaders from the clean technology and energy sector.” The Summit is co-located with the Future Energy and Future Environment exhibitions and held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The third edition of WFES will be held in Abu Dhabi from January 18 to 21, 2010.
