Dear Colleague,
The turmoil of the global economy and the implications for business are top of mind for many of us right now. How will governments around the world respond? How can businesses prepare for the uncertain times ahead? And for the future energy industry, where do the opportunities for growth now lie?
The WFES team has considered these questions and consulted the leaders in our industry to develop a Summit program more timely and relevant to business than ever before. With increased energy efficiency an absolute imperative for all countries and the need to create sustainable energy for all, we have identified innovation as the key factor in driving progress. Innovation in policy and international trade, innovation in technical advances and innovation in financing arrangements will all contribute to achieving our future energy goals.
See for yourself how WFES is powering sustainable innovation with our newly released program preview. This year’s program features Fatih Birol, Chief Economist at the International Energy Agency who will reveal the latest outlook for the health of the sustainable energy industry, along with a host of internationally respected CEOs, VPs and Directors from future energy companies who will share their strategies for 2012 and beyond. You will hear it first at WFES!
Registration is now open and generous “Early Bird” discounts apply!
As always, if you’d like to discuss any aspect of WFES, please don’t hesitate to contact myself or the team.

Dear Colleague,
The market for renewable energy projects in the Middle East is continuously and sturdily expanding.
The GCC region is currently relying on traditional energy production and, following a very healthy population and economical growth, it will require an investment of US$130 billion to increase power generation, transmission and distribution networks over the next few years, according to Meed. However, along traditional energy sources, the countries are also rapidly developing renewable energy networks. A good example is the UAE where, as estimated by the UAE Ministry of Economy, the private sector will have the opportunity to invest around US$ 100 billion in UAE-based alternative and sustainable energy projects by 2020*. Another one is Qatar, set to spend US$ 125 billion on new energy projects in the coming years*.
To support the market growth for renewable energy projects in the MENA region, at World Future Energy Summit 2011 we launched the Project Village, a meeting point for project developers, technology suppliers and investors in this industry. It proved to be an excellent platform for sourcing cutting edge technologies from suppliers and discussing business and investment opportunities with experts from the finance arena.
Following its great success, we will present the Project Village also during WFES 2012. This edition’s Project Village will showcase more than 40 projects from India, Middle East and North Africa and it will offer an ideal opportunity to identify growth and potential investments for project developers, investors, financiers and manufacturers. At the upcoming edition, we will be introducing projects of various sizes; small, medium and large, to offer business and investment opportunities also to small and medium enterprises.
We are always interested in your opinion; if you would like to discuss the Project Village, or your participation in World Future Energy Summit, please do not hesitate to contact myself or the team.
I will be very much looking forward to seeing you in Abu Dhabi on 16th- 19th January 2012.
Yours sincerely,
Naji El Haddad
