With over 6000MW installed from the parched expanses of the Gobi desert to the frozen plains of Minnesota, Goldwind 1.5MW permanent magnet direct drive (“PMDD”) turbines have performed in a wide range and challenging conditions with a variety of options to address different climate conditions. This year, Goldwind made another breakthrough by announcing its GW93/1500 ultra-low wind speed PMDD turbine.
GW93/1500 has a 93-meter rotor diameter with a rated capacity of 1.5MW, designed for IEC class S wind resources areas where the annual wind speed is lower than 6.5m/s. According to its designed capacity, the GW93/1500 series can generate power of more than 2000 standard hours (NCF: 23%) per year based on an annual average wind speed of 5.5m/s. With its characteristics of PMDD generator and a full-power converter with grid friendly properties, the turbine meets national grid connection requirements and meets zero voltage ride-through standards. In Oct. 2012, it was awarded Design Assessment certificate by China General Certification Center (CGC).
Leveraging its strong global R&D platform and innovative technologies, Goldwind has developed various customized wind turbine series to maximize value for our customers such as high altitude, low temperature, high temperature, offshore and intertidal PMDD models , which is also why Goldwind was awarded again this year as one of MIT Technology Review’s 50 Most Innovative Companies in the world.
