The concept behind the design is to show the traditional majlis sofa in a new and different light using UAE materials, technologies, techniques and Mira GHANEM own design processes. Through the design Mira has worked to uncover both a modern and luxurious look by combining proportionate stripes of gold, beige mesh woven camel leather with large areas of white leather. The stripes are a reference to the traditional Emirati Sadou fabrics and patterns used in the interiors of past and present societies.
The sofa design is modular; it is made up of separate modules that can be re-arranged, replaced or combined easily, to reflect the personal preference of the user at any one time.
