The World Future Energy Summit (WFES) 2013 and the International Water Summit (IWS) 2013, both hosted by Masdar, encouraged students and graduates to showcase their environmental sustainability solutions at the Green Ideas Fair being run in conjunction with the WFES and IWS exhibitions from 15th to 17th January 2013 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
Endorsed by the Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority (ADWEA), the Green Ideas Fair is an exciting new feature on water and energy sustainability that stimulates the creation of practical inventions to address the twin challenges of water scarcity, particularly in arid regions, and increasing energy demand through renewable sources.
Up to 20 shortlisted ideas were displayed free of charge in the co-located exhibition area at WFES and IWS, and the final winners were decided by summit attendees through an on-site voting system. Based on the voting results, WFES and IWS awarded cash prizes to the top three Green Ideas Fair participants as a reward for their efforts in enhancing water and energy sustainability.
