General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of UAE Armed Formed and hosted by Masdar, the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) is the world's foremost annual meeting committed to promoting the advancement of future energy, energy efficiency and clean technologies by engaging political, business, finance, academic and industry leaders to drive innovation, business and investment opportunities in response to the growing need for sustainable energy.
WFES, held in Abu Dhabi, capital of the UAE demonstrated its commitment to promoting and advancing innovation, research and regulation of the future and renewable energy globally.
WFES 2012 featured the Project & Finance Village, Innovate @ WFES, ExxonMobil Energy Outlook Forum and the Roundtable Discussions. Additionally, WFES 2012 witnessed the launch of several new products from all over the world.

The Summit
In 2012, WFES brought together more than 150 eminent thought leaders to reveal the latest innovations and discuss the burning issues surrounding future energy. Designed to address the theme ‘Powering Sustainable Innovation’, the Summit explored role of innovation in transforming the use of fossil fuel based energy into a diverse mix featuring renewable and sustainable energy sources. Throughout the four days of the Summit, the underlying theme of innovation was seen across the framework of policy, business, technology and finance with ground-breaking presentations from industry leaders.

Keynote addresses will include speeches from HE Wen Jiabao, Premier, People’s Republic of China, HE Kim Hwang-sik, Prime Minister, South Korea, HE Mr Nassir Abdulaziz-Al-Nasser, President, United Nations General Assembly, HE Ban-ki Moon, Secretary-General, United Nations.
Inspirational speeches from Bertrand Picard, Chief Executive Officer, Solar Impulse, and Aiden Dwyer, Young Innovator from the USA, together with a group of students pledging the younger generation’s commitment to innovation for a cleaner future, will conclude the Opening Ceremony.

The best and most innovative technologies from the world of energy were on show at WFES 2012.
